GIG PREVIEW - NOUVEAU GIGS PRESENTS: THE FROOT '67 WITH SUPPORT FROM MOUSES, 1080 TREES AND FREYA KING
NOUVEAU GIGS was founded
by musician Callum Casey (of Static Blue and
Glass Vibes) and local music
blogger/writer Sal Wilcox, who felt it was time the coast had its own scene,
providing affordable gigs for local acts and music fans.
Kicking off the night is singer-songwriter Freya King,
renowned for her soulful vocals and intricate, finger plucked guitar. On the night she will be sharing both old, new and familiar tracks we all know and love.
Next up
is 1080 Trees, a band that indulges
in powerful yet melodic riffs, sating
metal fans whilst providing a catchy tune to dance along to.
The main support of the night is the wonderfully wacky Mouses, a lo-fi punk duo. If you hadn't had the pleasure of seeing Mouses, envisage the love child of Wheezer, Dinosaur Jr and Pavement. After the success of their previous single 'Poison' (click here for review), the band recently secured themselves an exclusive interview with CLASH regarding their latest track 'Hollywood'.
