'Skinny Dipping' is the latest single from Blackburn indie group New York Tourists. The band are set to release a video for the track this Friday.
The track opens with a pulsing beat, coated in an ambient layer of synth before welcoming front man Gaz Taylor's honeyed vocals.
The hook of: "I want to strip down to nothing, strip down to nothing, with you", gives the track the 'sing along' factor and cements it as a happy go lucky tune.
The song is an undeniably catchy, easy listen but it just needs a bit more oomph. The production of the track isn't great - the guitar riffs just linger in the background and it needs a richer, bolder bass line.
However, the song definitely has a lot of potential and there's some interesting counter melodies throughout the track - but it needs to be nurtured into a bigger, more powerful sound. The band know how to create a tune, they just need to focus on producing a more well-rounded, full bodied sound.
